Bring innovative play to school with KaBOOM and Children's Claritin

With back to school season in full force, families need to think beyond the pencils, backpacks and books. After a summer full of playing and fun, kids may have a hard time focusing on work. Sometimes playing can assist in learning. KaBOOM, a national non-profit wants to help bring innovative play spaced to schools in need.

Now through October 31, Children's Claritin has teamed with KaBOOM! to bring innovative play spaces to schools in need. Everyone is encouraged to visit the Claritin Facebook page to vote on one of the twelve finalist schools. Parents can vote once a day throughout the promotion.

The four schools with the most votes will each receive Imagination Playground™ equipment, which creates an accessible, creative place for children to play in 2014.

Here are some facts about these play sets.
  • These mobile play sets are comprised of oversized, foam blocks that can be assembled inside or outside, offering children of all abilities the opportunity to foster creativity and critical-thinking skills.
  • All votes count in selecting the four winners and support Children’s Claritin’s efforts with KaBOOM!
  • Participants can post a “cause donation badge” for this promotion onto their Facebook timeline
  • The four willing schools will be announced in November, 2013 and will receive the playsets in 2014.

While many families understand the importance of school supplies and learning, playing can help promote a better learning environment. According to Pediatrics, the journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), creative play helps children adjust to the school setting, foster learning behaviors, develop problem-solving skills and it enhances their readiness to learn. Finding the funding and resources to balance creative play and learning is the key school success.

Take a minute out of your day to help a school in need. After your click take a break and get out and play.
