As a parent, I can get frustrated with my children's homework assignments. Whether it's the crumpled papers at the bottom of the bag or the scramble to finish forgotten homework after breakfast, the lack of planning drives me crazy. I like to have a schedule and have items planned. I'm introducing an Academic Planner for my kids.
The Academic Planner is a tool for time management. Developed by Leslie Josel, an ADHD specialist, the planner helps kids to visualize their time to organize it. Seeing available time for work helps kids plan and get assignments completed.
There are three components to this system working.
1. It's easy - Assignment, due dates and reminders for each subject can be seen at a glance.
2. It's functional - To do tasks, like studying and assignments, are easily scheduled in "available" time.
3. It puts the student in control - Kids can learn to understand when and what needs to be accomplished. They can keep after school activities on the calendar yet not sacrifice their school work.
I like the Academic Planner because it puts my kids in charge. They must take responsibility for writing their assignments and homework down every day. I don't have to nag or question them. When a task is completed, they cross it off.
Also, the kids can see what's planned for the week or even month ahead. We have busy schedules with sports and swim meets. Now the kids can see what time is available to play with friends, plan a movie night, or just have a day off. It creates responsibility in themselves.
This Academic Calender by Order out of Chaos is great for elementary school students up to high school. It is based on a school academic calendar. To stand up to kid abuse, it has a durable cover and 4 different cover design.
Put your kids on a successful academic track with the Academic Planner from Order Out of Chaos.
