When I think about going on a diet, the dark cloud tends to hover around the house. Generally, I eat well. Fruits, vegetables and portion control. But, those afternoon cookies sometimes call my name. I know that I should grab something better, but I'm hungry. I don't need empty calories, but I want a hearty meal full of food and flavor. I know that it will make that cookie craving go away.
Green Giant has a new way of thinking, eat more that's the giant difference. For the same amount of calories, Green Giant gives you more. The portion size of vegetables is bigger than you think. The amount of food makes your stomach feel full and satisfied. More importantly the vegetables taste great. There is more flavor from crunchy vegetables, low fat sauces and spices. All of this goodness is under 100 calories.
What I have committed to change is added more vegetables to my lunch. My concept is to eat more lower calorie foods and hopefully curb that cookie craving. Full bellies don't need cookies. Better eating is about consuming the right amount and type of food. Plus, variety and flavor keep me from boredom which can derail any eating program.
So, is it working? I'm just starting my process. I'm a big fan of the Green Giant vegetables. While I have tried several varieties, my favorite is Antioxidant Blend with Olive Oil Seasoning. The crunchy peppers and carrots make my chicken dishes pop. One of my favorite pairings is adding a few boiled shrimp to a serving of these veggies. It's a fast, easy lunch and completely satisfying.
Am I still eating afternoon cookies. Occasionally, but not all the time. A little indulgence is ok, especially when I ahead of the game with my vegetables.
Green Giant frozen vegetables are available at most grocery stores.
