When it
comes to a kid favorite, pizza is top of the list. Whether it is plain
cheese, pepperoni or even everything, kids will jump for pizza. With the
warmer weather, no one wants the oven heating up the house. It's time
to put pizza on the grill.
Pizza
on the grill gives a smokey quality to the standard pizza dough. With
Pillsbury pizza crust a homemade pizza gets a depth of flavor by putting
it on the grill.
Here are some thoughts on how to grill pizza.
First
a pizza stone is nice, but it isn't necessary. Remember pizza stones
have a heat limit (we learned this the hard way when ours cracked).
Don't crank up your grill over 500 degrees of your stone can bust.
When
it comes to pizza on the grill, thin is the way to go. First spread out
the Pillsbury pizza dough on a piece of aluminum foil. After the grill
is ready, simply flip the dough on the grilling surface. In just a few
minutes. Use a spatula or other device to flip it over. Try not to over
cook the dough because it will continue to cook with the toppings. If
you aren't confident with a large pizza, try smaller sizes until you get
the hang of it.
Toppings
can add your unique flare. From loaded veggies to a meat lovers dream,
enjoy your favorite ones. Occasionally experiment a little. Summer
grilled vegetables or even a dessert pizza with fruit and Nutella can
bring smiles all around the table. The best part of the dinner is making the pizza on the grill.
