Outdoor fun soars to new heights with Zing Toys - review/giveaway

With the kids on summer vacation, we have time to have fun (putting aside daily swim practices and swim meets). Still, I want the kids to enjoy the sunshine, be outside and be active. Unless the weather doesn't cooperate, the day shouldn't be spent playing video games or watching television.

As a mom of boys, I have noticed that little men like toys that soar to great heights, knock down obstacles and allow them to become the supreme battle winner. I'm not always sure of the specific games that the kids play, but I fully understand the concept boys like big, cool toys. As a mom, I like toys that are fun, are durable and could have an educational element (don't tell the kids that last part). A great compromise to our wants are toys from Zing.

Zing is a company that offers a wide variety of creative and innovative products. The company's mission is clear - "Get children off the couch (and their smartphones!), spark the imagination, and promote physical coordination and play." Just take a look at the company website; the variety of toy options clearly support their mission.

Our family have several Zing toys. Personally, I like these toys for two reasons; the fun, outdoor factor and the durability. While the kids may not realize it, there are a few educational aspects like velocity, gravity and a few other science principles. Here are a few of our favorites from the Zing product lines.

Zoom Zooka:
As a parent of boys, I have learned that the perfect water gun is a must for summer fun. From the battles at the pool to backyard ambushes, a water gun that can quickly soak your opponent is highly recommended. Blast farther, fill quicker and reign supreme are the key components to the Zoom Zooka. The Zoom Zooka is a double fun blaster. The water component shoots a stream of water more than 50 feet. Plus, it can be filled quite quickly. In addition to the water, the Zoom Zooka is a high-powered air launcher that blasts rockets, planes and suction cup dart. For the non-pool days, this shooter can protect your yard from invading neighbors. The Zoom Zooka is recommended for ages 6 and older. It retails for approximately $19.99

Sky Ripperz:
How far can your rocket soar?  With Sky Ripperz, the super sonic bungee-launched rockets can fly up to 250 feet. Plus, each rocket whistles as it pierces the sky. Kids can have fun seeing who can launch the highest, furthest or closest to the target. Always make sure to properly launch your rocket. The kids love the whistle sound because it makes them feel that their rocket is super charged. Sky Ripperz are intended for ages 8 and up. I would recommend a decent amount of space, as well as, a discussion about aiming away from a roof prior to using them (needless to say we had one land on the roof - luckily a storm knocked it off). The Sky Ripperz retail for approximately $17.99.

Zoom Rocketz:
Have you ever noticed that kids are really good at stamping their feet?  Put that pouting and stomping to good use with the Zoom Rocketz. Watch the air-powered rockets take flight with a stomp of your foot. These rockets can reach heights up to 200 feet. Be careful, sometimes the adults can have as much fun as the kids stomping and launching the rockets into the sky.  Zoom Rocketz are recommended for children ages 10 or older. It retails for approximately $17.99.
