Curious Chef, inspiring my kids cooking creativity, review/giveaway

I've mentioned before that my family might be considered foodies by some. We watch the Food Network, we read a lot of food related magazines and we love to cook. Whether it's beef, fish or something out of the ordinary, we will try to cook (and eat) it at least once.

I've found that when my kids help me cook what we eat that they are more likely to eat the food without complaining. There is a sense of accomplishment in preparing the meal that makes The food taste so much better. My only concern with having them help me cook is that my kitchen tools aren't made for kids. Between too sharp knives to too large tools, the kids get frustrated and I panic. I've found a solution to our kitchen dilemma, Curious Chef.

Curious Chef is a line of kid-friendly kitchen tools. These are definitely not toys. These are excellent kitchen utensils and gadgets. All the products are designed with kids in mind. From easy grips to sizes perfect for smaller hands, these tools get job done safely without compromising quality.

Our family has the fruit and veggie prep kit. What I love about this kit is that my kids get to help me make our meals.

I'm sure that many moms have been there. The kids are hovering around the island. They ask can I help, when will dinner be ready, what's that? Of course, you want to respond politely, but really you just want to finish cutting the carrots, onions and the rest of the items for dinner.

With our fruit and veggie prep kit, the kids can help me in the kitchen. I set up a little station by my cutting board with their prep items. Usually it's a few carrots,  pieces of celery or maybe a potato. The Curious Chef tools are easy for them to handle. Also the blunt tip tools are made from plastic and nylon so I don't worry about having a huge kitchen accident.

I've found that certain items work well with the kids. Simple cutting tasks like apples, carrots, and celery work great (harder fruits and veggies are easier for kids to cut). By having my kids in the kitchen they are learning about food, tastes that they enjoy and expand their perceptions of food. We have fewer dinnertime battles and my kids are happy to try new items.

Curious Chef offers a full line of kid-friendly products. There are several kits including pizza party, measure & prep kit, dessert set and numerous individual items including all types of kitchen utensils and tools.

These products can be purchased on-line at the Curious Chef store, Cooking.com, Target and many other retailers.
