Rock N Learn apps, teaching your kids multiplication the fun way, review/giveaway

Keeping my boys interested and engaged in learning is a priority for me. They are easily distracted by movies, videos games, etc. To get them to sit at the table and practice their multiplication tables is not a fun endeavor. So, when a company tells me that they have an iPhone and iPad app to help my kids learn, I say sign me up.Rock N Learn is that company.

Rock N Learn offers a variety of iPhone, iTouch, iPad and Android apps. Also, there are several educational DVDs. Rock N Learn offers early learning, phonics, math, social sciences and language programs. This company has tons of tools to help your children achieve in the classroom.

"Learn to Multiply the fun way with D.J. Doc Roc, the Hip Hop Hamster. Each app includes a music video from Rock 'N Learn's award winning Multiplication Rap DVD and a skip counting video. A randomized drill over the facts from x0 through x12 helps learners check their progress. Once you've learned all the facts, race the clock to see who can get the best time!"

What I like about these apps is that they keep the kids interested. They are upbeat and age appropriate . The learning is hidden in the fun. Plus, my kids do better memorizing math tables in a fun environment. Music is a great motivator.

Having these learning tools on my iPhone and iPad is perfect for our busy family. We can practice at swim practices or in the car. I don't have to bring along tons of paper or flash cards. It's easy for everyone.  Also, the skip counting video is great for younger children. Starting in kindergarten, kids learn how to count by twos, fives and tens. Your can show kids how multiplication is similar to skip counting. If you can skip count, you can multiply.

Plus, the app offers a quick drill. The quick drill simulates what our teachers do in school. Getting the kids to memorize the answers and being able to respond quickly is key to success. The repetition reinforces their learning and helps in school.

We will be getting more of these apps for my family. It's a great teaching/learning tool.

Right now, Rock N Learn is offering 25% off any DVDs or CDs at www.rocknlearn.com. Just use the code JQ7711 at check out.

  1. I actually use a lot of Rock N Learn DVDs. The Money and Telling Time and Addition and Subtraction DVDs are great. I also have a few Apps. Repetition seems to help them grasp the concepts, so I do play the DVDs often. They are both ahead of their grade level, so something is working. :)
