Wizard World Comic Con Chicago is all about the kids August 14

From August 12 through August 14, the Donald E Stephens conference center in Rosemont is Wizard World Comic Con Chicago 2011 headquarters.

Sunday, August 14 is kids day at Comic Con. Throughout the day, there special events throughout the day geared towards kids. It is a total kids extravaganza!

The kids will have so many activities it will fill the entire day. There will be appearances by Wow Wow Wubbzy of Nickelodeon fame, Disney princess, favorite superheroes, and the Defuser. Also, there will be face painting, balloon art, and the impossibly cute kids costume contest.

Plus, kids can hear a special reading of My Favorite Giant, by author Peter Mayhew. Not familiar with that name?  Maybe you know him better as the actor who portrayed Chewbacca in Star Wars.

To make sure that kids see all the special features of their day, pick up a free Wizard World Kids Adventure Passport. When the kids complete all the specific activities throughout Chicago Comic Con, they can receive a prize at the end of their journey.

Parents don't have to worry about which booths are kid friendly. There will be kid-friendly buttons on activities, vendors, booths and sessions throughout the convention center.

Here is a synopsis of special programing for kids:
  • Noon: How to be a Hero with Jarrett Crippen, aka, The Defuser from Who Wants to be a Superhero
  • 1 pm: Draw Like a Superhero, Award winners Franco Aureliani and Art Baltazar share drawing tips
  • 2 pm: Costume Contest
