Kidzapalooza, Chicago families rock it out on August 7

In August, Chicago goes wild for the annual Lollapalooza event. Although my kids love many of the artists playing at Lollapalooza, it isn't the best idea to take them to Grant Park for the event. Luckily, there is a kids event in the spirit of Lollapalooza, Kidzapalooza

On August, 7, 2011, The James Chicago will host the Very Important Rocker (V.I.R.) event, Kidzapalooza. This family-friendly musical event will feature top-selling family artists including Ralph's World, The Happiness Club, Brady-Rymer and adult favorite Haley Bonar.  For the third year, this free unplugged musical festival will offer Chicago families a rocking good time.

Tor Hyams, co-founder of Kidzapalooza, describes this year's lineup as "full of fun and energy." The event celebrates Chicago families and "those who are both young in age and young at heart."

On the morning on August 7, families are invited to the James Chicago for a morning of music, entertainment and wholesome family fun. Select performers will be available to take pictures and sign autographs for their fans. Also, there will be break dancing workshops, wall art displays and lots of fun for the wee rockers.

But, there is more than just great music. Paul Frank Industries, the design house and apparel company, (you can't miss their unique colors and that monkey logo) will be on hand to provide giveaways throughout the V.I.R event.

Of course, the event wouldn't be complete without lots of yummy goodies. Lifeway Kefir, supplier of healthy, dairy drinks, and The FruitGuys will provide lots of healthy treats for all the guests. Also, Applegate Farms will raffle a new cooking set and a prize package of its organic meat products.

Kidapalooza will be held at The James Chicago. The James Chicago is one of Chicago's luxury boutique hotels and it offers unique kid-friendly facilities. One special feature is The James' Family Adventurer with Paul Frank. This special offer provides access to some of Chicago's best attractions including The John Hancock Observatory, The Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and Museum of Science and Industry, in addition to a gift from Paul Frank.

The package is available through December 31, 2011 and the package includes:
  • Two Chicago City Pass tickets to 5 Chicago attractions
  • Milk and cookie turn-down service each evening
  • A pair of children's Paul Frank pajamas
  • A map to navigate the expedition
  • In-room American Breakfast for two
