Chicago Museums with free admission in April

Taking a child to a museum can be an amazing experience. From the exploration during the visit to the discussions on the way home, children can learn many things from these excursions.

Unfortunately, in our house, we do not visit as often as we should. Why do we visit monthly or more? The cost of entrance fee can be prohibitive.

Luckily many Chicago area museums offer free admission days to alleviate the cost issue. Now there are no excuses not to take your child to one of the area’s great museums.

Free admission days for April are as follows:

The Art Institute of Chicago- Every Thursday in April from 5-8 pm until May 26

Chicago Children’s Museum - Every Thursday, 5 – 8 pm and First Sunday of each month for children 15 & under – (April 3)

Chicago History Museum- April 4, 11, 18 & 25

Field Museum:  April 11

Loyola University Museum of Art - April 5, 12, 19 & 26

Museum of Contemporary Art - April 5, 12, 19 & 26

Notebaert Nature Museum April 7, 14, 21 & 28

This list is a partial listing of local museums with free admission days in April. Be sure to check with the museum for any terms or conditions regarding free admission.

I don't suppose you have any extra time to make a list like that of museums in southern CA, particularly the south Orange County, San Diego, and LA areas.?? (hey...it never hurts to ask, LOL)
