Celebrate our Veterans on Veterans Day with freebies and discounts

Thursday, November 11 is Veterans Day. While a free meal  or discount can't come close to a thank you for all that a veteran has done for our country, the idea to give a little back for a veteran's choice to serve is nice idea.

Below is a list of several free activities for Veterans on November 11, 2010. Please provide military identification to receive the offers.

1. Applebees: All veterans and active duty military receive a free meal.

2. McCormick and Schmidt: At participating restaurants all veterans will receive a free meal from a special menu. Reservations are strongly recommended.

3. Outback Steakhouse: Veterans and active duty military will receive a free Blooming Onion and a non-alcoholic beverage at participating locations.

4. Subway: Select franchise locations will give free 6-inch subs to veterans and active duty military personnel. Please call your location to check its participation.

5. UNO Chicago Grill: Veterans and active duty personnel can receive a free individual pizza with the purchase of a pizza or entree of greater or equal value.

6. Chili's: Veterans and active duty personnel can receive a free lunch or dinner for dine in only. Select menu items only.

7. Golden Corral: On November 15, veterans can receive a free meal at Golden Corral.

This list provides only some of the specials for Veterans Day. In addition to these restaurant freebies, Sports Clips offers a free hair cut for veterans. Also, National Parks offer free admission for everyone on Veterans Day.

On Veterans Day, please thank a veteran for his or her service to our country.
