Angles make the difference- don't crash the tower, Tetris Jenga by Hasbro- review/giveaway

Some people have the knack to see spatially. They can see how and why pieces fit together. It is easy and make sense. For others, the patterns and shapes make for a jumble of mismatched blocks that never seem to fit. For fans of the iconic Tetris games, they can put the stacking, matching skills to the test in Hasbro's Jenga Tetris

In this new version of the classic Jenga, the game has a new angle. Gone are the consistent shape and size of the pieces. Since this version is Tetris inspired, the game pieces are angled. Some pieces are easy, rectangles which other pieces are L-shaped, T-shaped or shorter. When playing classic Jenga, the goal was to stack the deck tight with no holes. In this version, gaps and holes are ok.

The Janga Tertis is played by removing a block and creating a new level. The goal is to pick the best block so not to topple the entire tower. With the new angled pieces, players must choose more wisely since the tower can more easily tumble.

My family has enjoyed playing this game. The kids are always looking for and awaiting the big tumble. The only downside that we had is that the pieces are colored. With a husband who is color deficient (aka color blind) the colored pieces were a little more difficult for him to recognize where one piece began and another ended.

Personally, I liked the various angled pieces. It adds to the complexity of the game. More importantly, it taught the kids how and why certain pieces would support the tower better and which pieces could make it tumble.

Hasbro's Jenga Tetris can be purchased online and at most mass merchants. It retails for approximately $14.99.

If you are looking for a holiday gift to give or a family game night game for family get-togethers, Jenga Tetris would be perfect. It is a fun way to get people together to talk, think and have fun.
