Girls just want to sing, time to be Spontuneous, game review #MissionGiveaway Holiday Gift Guide

Have you noticed that tween and teen girls know so many songs and lyrics?  It seems that whatever song is on the radio, these girls can sing along. Even when girls get together there is singing, dancing and generally girls having fun. It doesn't matter if one friend is on pitch and the other girl is out of tune. It's about fun, being in the moment and enjoying the time together. When thinking about a perfect holiday gift, Spontuneous is great game for the tween or teen girl in your life.

Spontuneous is a game of fun and frivolity. The key to the game is knowing songs. For teen and tween girls, their song knowledge is vast. Plus, they just want to have fun with their friends. They think fast; there is no filter; and they are willing and able to jump into the game play.

Here's the premise of the game. Players take turns trying to think of a word that will stump the other players from being able to sing a 5-word portion of lyrics (from any song) that contains the given Trigger-word. If the 15-second timer expires and you have stumped everyone, then you must prove you know a song containing your own Trigger-Word or else your penalized. It will test your knowledge of lyrics and will forever change the way you listen to music.

Girls love this game because it gives them the opportunity to sing some of their favorite songs. It isn't about the ability, or how well, you sing. It is about fun and thinking on your feet. For example, how many songs have the word "Ball" in it. From Wrecking Ball to Great Balls of Fire, this game runs the gamut of music genres. From pop stars to rap enthusiasts, everyone can join in on the fun.

Spontuneous has been named the following:

  • Parent Tested Parent Approved (PTPA) Seal of Approval - 2012
  • The National Parenting Center Seal of Approval - 2012
  • Play Advances Language (PAL) Award - 2012
  • Mom's Best Hot Products - 2012
  • Mom's Choice Award Gold - 2011
  • Dr. Toy's Best Vacation Products Winner - 2011
  • Creative Child Magazine Creative Toy Awards 2011 Game of the Year
After the girls have their fun, parents might want to borrow the game for a party too. I have played this game with my neighbors and friends. Choosing the right trigger word can reveal a lot about a person. From the 80s Hair Band lover to the secret country crooner, everyone was laughing and having fun. The best part is the people who can't carry a tune often know more lyrics (I'm guilty of this trait).

Spontuneous can be purchased on-line at Amazon.com, the company's website or other local retailers. The game retails for $24.99.

From girls to grandma, make your next party filled with laughter and song with a rousing round of Spontuenous.
