Test your world geography knowledge with GEODice - review

When you are watching the nightly world news, are their a few country names that stump you?  Maybe you are the geography star that knows the majority of countries in Africa. It doesn't matter which end of the spectrum you land, Geo Dice will challenge you.

GEODice is a geography based game from GeoToys. The game board is a world map. Players roll the five Letter Dice and two Continent Dice. Based on the combinations, players must name as many countries and/ore capital that correspond to the letters and continents.

We have been playing this game with our kids. With younger children, our focus is learning countries (no capitals, yet). As a geography learning tool, the game is engaging.

Since our children are young school aged, the first few times we modified the rules. We used the letter dice as key to a search. For example, the location dice said Africa and the letter dice said S. The kids would say all the countries that they saw which started with the letter S. The more we played, the more familiar the kids became with the countries. Now, we have them name as many countries that they can remember (no cheating).

The other benefit to this game is the discussions and questions that the kids have while playing. We have talked about countries I have visited. Also, we day dream about regions where we would like to go. Who would have thought that my son would want to see the all of the Nile River.

I would recommend GEODice for homeschooling or as a teacher gift. If your family is looking for an educational based game that is challenging and fun, this game would be a great addition to your collection.

Geo Dice is available for purchase at Amazon. It retails for $29.99. Right now the company is offering 25% any two game purchase on Amazon.com. For more information on this company and other promotions, please visit its Facebook and Twitter pages.

Put your world knowledge to the test with a challenging game of GEODice.
