Denny's Complete Skillet Meals filling up my hungry boys - review

I don't know about you, but some nights I just don't want to cook. Maybe I have had a long day or I have no inspiration in the kitchen. It doesn't matter the reason, but I want someone to place full meal on a table in front of me. Since I have a whole family to feed, eating dinner out can put a dent in our weekly budget. Plus, the copious amounts of food that my kids can eat (did I mention that they are growing athletes) means that a little plate isn't going to make the grade.

Denny's has a new menu option, the Complete Skillet Meals, that fills up the family without draining my wallet. This meal includes three courses and a starting price of just $8.99. Very few restaurants can offer that amount of food at such a competitive price.

Here's how a Complete Skillet Meal works. First, customers choose a starter. Options includes a cup of soup, Denny's garden or Caesar salad, or seasonal fruit. Next comes the skillet option. Six dishes include Prime Rib Loaded Potato Skillet, Country-Fried Steak Skillet, Chicken Loaded Potato Skillet,Pot Roast Skillet, Bacon Chipotle Chicken Skillet and the Hash Skillet. Of course, a meal isn't complete without the dessert. Choices include Mini Apple Crisp,Mini Banana Split, Pecan Pie or Denny’s famous Pancake Puppies® Sundae.

After looking at the various choices, guests can create up to 100 possible meal combinations. With those odds, everyone can find a meal that will fit their flavor profile.  My choice of Complete Skillet Meal included a Denny's salad, Bacon Chipotle Chicken Skillet and the Pancake Puppies Sundae (yes I'm a kid at heart). If I didn't count the sundae, my meal was under 7600 calories. Personally, I think that it a great calorie count for a larger amount of food (plus I had some bacon). Yes, I did go a little over with the sundae, but I have to splurge every once and a while (I did share some with my son).

The Complete Skillet Meal menu option is available for a limited time at your local Denny's. The next time you don't want to cook, give your family a filling yet cost effective meal at Denny's.

Disclosure: I received a gift card to try this menu option. All opinions are my own.
