Football and Rudolph pork rinds - a winning combination - review

We are a football house. From little men who play the game to the big man who lives and breathes the Green Bay Packers, football is everything in our house. Of course, Sunday would not be complete without Sunday being a day where friends and neighbors come over to watch the big games. With lots of guests in the basement, we need to have plenty of snack items to feed the hungry crowds. One snack that is served is pork rinds.

We like to serve lots of options to our guests. Since some people need gluten free options, pork rinds can be a fun choice. Whether you like regular or spicy BBQ, Rudolph Foods offers a lot of selections of pork rinds.

For those of you not familiar, pork rinds are the fried pork skin. They are high in protein and low in fat. Plus, they are gluten free. These snacks have good crunch and are great for snacking. Plus, pork rinds can be included in several recipes. From using pork rinds as a crunchy coating for chicken to a topping on your favorite pizza, this food is more than just a convenient snack.

Rudolph Foods is a major player in the pork rind industry. Their products are available in many convenience stores and Walmart.

Rudolph Foods promotes the Second Annual Pork Rind Appreciation Day campaign, which is celebrated on the first Sunday of February. To celebrate this day, $.10 of the purchase of all Rudolph Foods branded products will support the organization’s assistance fund (up to $10,000).

Personally, I like to support companies that give back to organizations in need. Visit www.RudolphFoods.com/PorkRindDay to vote on your favorite videos, share your football experiences and enter to win a Big Game party. Most importantly, your participation will help those boys of fall.

Anyone who has watched a football game will understand that the talented men who play on the field can take some serious blows. While they often get up after the big hit, the toll that these tremendous plays take on a body can be difficult. Later in life, many former players need assistance to care for medical bills. That' why the Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund was created.

"The Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund's mission is to assist retired NFL players in need who were pioneers of the game and who have greatly contributed to the NFL’s status as the most popular sport in America. GGAF provides hands-on assistance to help retired players and their families deal with hardships they face after football. The services include medical assistance, transportation costs for medical evaluations and surgeries, housing assistance, financial assistance for utilities, medication, and coordination of services for food, automotive payments and childcare. The organization focuses on the humanitarian side of post-football related issues, which include coordination of social services to retired players who are in need due to a variety of reasons including inadequate disability and/or pensions." www.GridironGreats.org
