Think differently, look amazing with Six Weeks to OMG- review/giveaway

Everyone wants to look her best. It could be a simple goal like feeling confident in a pair of shorts to strutting around in a bikini. No matter a person's goal, looking and feeling good about yourself is a high priority. Even with this ideal, finding the tools to achieve this pursuit can be a daunting task. There are so many books, gadgets and programs available, it can be confusing for even the most diligent person. How do you know what will work?  Think about your personality, your goals and your lifestyle. When you are ready, start the journey to everyone saying OMG!

Six Weeks to OMG is a book that is helping me take a step toward my goals. With a few unusual tactics, you too can be on the road to looking fabulous.

I wouldn't say that I'm tremendous overweight. I'm a size 8, which is pretty good. But, I don't have a flat stomach. I really want to have a flat stomach so that one day I could wear a bikini. Not a bad goal, right? I workout at least 5 days a week and eat a decent diet (yes, I splurge on a dessert or glass of wine). Still, I look at different programs to help me achieve my desire to have a flat stomach.

Recently I was given the book, Six Weeks to OMG, by Venice Fulton. Like many of you, I heard about this book on morning talk shows. There are a few tactics that have received a lot of hype. But, the underlying concept of the book is simple. Be aware of the foods you put in your body and keep yourself active. The other tactics will increase your fat fighting potential.

I've just finished the book so I'm not far into the 6 weeks program. One portion is very hard for me. It is suggested that you drink plain, black coffee on an empty stomach before your workout. Since I have stomach issues, the high acidity in the coffee makes my stomach crazy. Plus, making coffee at 4:45 in the morning creates a lot of noise while I'm trying to sneak out of a sleeping house. While I understand the concept of caffeine on an empty pre-workout stomach, for me personally, it is a little difficult. I'm trying to find an alternative to this method.

The other highly talked about portion of the book is the cold shower. According to Fulton, a cold bath  can help with reducing the appearance of cellulite and increasing fat burning. Personally, I love my long, hot showers. It's a few moments for me to escape from the chaos of my house.  In the summer, a cold bath doesn't sound too bad. But in the middle of a miserably cold winter, a cold bath will be more difficult. I'm sure as I add time and reduced temperatures, this task will become easier.

Overall, I like the book. The biggest item that I took away is that you don't have to do everything. Everything is personal. Adapt the advice to fit your needs, wants and goals. You are in charge.
