Bristol Renaissance Faire welcomes Mike the Knight

Who is ready to travel to a land where knights battle for the queen's favor, lords are powerful and maidens are fair?  There is a small area of Kenosha that has transformed itself into the Elizabethan era. For the 25th year, the Bristol Renaissance Faire has opened the gates to this medieval wonderland.

This year, the Faire celebrates all family activities with several special appearances.  Traveling all the way from his kingdom, Glendragon, Mike the Knight will visit the Bristol Renaissance Faire on August 4-5.

Fans of the Nickeldeon character know that Mike the Knight is a 10 year old son of the King and Queen of Glendragon. Mike strives to be a brave and noble knight, like his father the king.

This weekend Mike will greet his fans in the Kids Kingdom. He will tell stories and have some gifts to giveaway. Whether you are a fan of this children's show or just want to visit the Elizabethan age, your family will have lots to do at this annual event.

The Bristol Renaissance Faire celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. For families there are so many activities to fill a day. Our family visited the Faire last weekend and was very impressed with all the performances, games and rides. Some of the highlights for my kids were the Mud Show, jousting knights and riding an elephant. Kids and adults can try their hand at skill activities like archery and axe throwing. Follow all these strenuous act with a giant turkey leg or a refreshing glass of sassafras.

The Bristol Renaissance Faire is located just west of I-94’s Russell Road exit, near Kenosha, Wisconsin. The event will be open rain or shine from 10 am till 7 pm on Saturday and Sunday. The season runs July 7 through September 2 and Labor Day, Monday September 3. Adult tickets are $19.95; children’s tickets are $9.95; and children under 5 are free. Discounts are available online at renfair.com or by calling 847-395-7773.
