Cheer for Packers or Bears, there's a football camp for you

With just a few more days of school left, our house is chaotic. Of course, the kids are so happy to be done with school. Unfortunately, I'm in a panic because I need to keep them occupied all summer long. The question becomes what camps can I find for my kids during those long summer months.

We are a huge sports family and our favorite sport is football. My boys can't wait to put on their pads and helmets and take the field. If you are familiar with the song "The Boys of Fall" then you understand our family dynamic. From August till February, our family lives and breathes the Green And Gold.

That's right, our family supports, the pride of Lambeau Field, the Green Bay Packers. Trust me, being a Packer fan in the land of Big Shoulders (aka Da' Bears) can be tough. From the cheesehead chides to the brat jokes, we have heard them all. Still we stand tall and proud while we cheer for Aaron Rodgers, Clay Matthews and the rest of the Packers team.

My little football men at home wear their green and gold with pride to school, cheer loudly on Sunday, and have been know to boo a few opposing team fans. Since they love their football and Packers, I was looking at football camp options.

Still my boys are young. I want them to enjoy football, but I want their experience to be safe above all else. It is important for them to learn the rules of football, how to play correctly and respect their fellow players. Anyone can put a helmet on, run to a field and make a hit. But there is much more to the game of football then just the action on the field.

Finding a way to combine the love of football, a strong sports integrity and a summer activity is key to a successful summer for our family. Yes, I want it all. My list of wants is vast, but I can find the perfect summer camp for my boys.

The  Green Bay Packers Youth Football Camps and  Chicago Bears Youth Football Camps are safe, non-contact instruction for kids ages 6-14 and are very suitable for any kid that just wants to learn the game.  They provide a station-based training format that allows campers to be divided by age and experience level so each receives the right level of instruction and support.  Kids will learn to run, throw, catch, defend, form block, form tackle and explode out of their stance with proper technique and improved speed.   The camps, which each run for 5 days from 9am to 3pm (that’s 30 hours active learning, instruction and fun!), do more than just introduce kids to sports, they make kids passionate about being healthy and help develop a lifelong love of fitness.

I'm really excited about my boys being involved in these football camps. Each day they will be active as well as enjoying a sport they love. Our summer will be full of energy, fitness and in case, the Green Bay Packers. Don't worry Bears fans, you're welcome too!  That is, until we meet on the gridiron this fall.
