McDonald's launches Happy Meal Chef Contest

I have two Iron Chefs in training. My kids love watching Food Network and the Chew. These shows have sparked many conversations about nutrition and good food choices. All this knowledge might help them in the new contest from McDonald's.

Now through April 18, parents and children can enter the Happy Meal Chefs contest. Visit https://happymealchefs.mcdonalds.com/ to enter your family in this fun contest. As a team, answer a brief questionnaire and submit a short online video. The video should creativity showcase your family mealtime. This contest is for children ages 8-11.

What could you and your family win?  Ten finalists will win a trip to London for the 2012 Olympic Games. They will be a guest of the Global Champions of Play program. This program brings kids from around the world to celebrate balanced eating and play. The winner of the contest will receive an apprenticeship with McDonald's executive chef and help his team with a Happy Meal.

McDonald's  is committed to balanced eating and nutrition as seen in the  Commitments to Offer Improved Nutrition Choices . Happy Meals now include apple slices and a small fry. In new ads, McDonald's will focus on balanced eating and active play.

Get your creative cooking juices flowing and think about entering the Happy Meals Chefs contest.  Hurry this contest ends 4/18/12.
