Have you ever noticed that kids seem to have endless energy? I know that my kids epitomize the energizer bunny. If I don't keep up with them, they get into mischief. I definitely don't want to clean up their creations because they were bored. I need to be in shape; it's not a choice, but a necessity.
Fit Moms for Life: How to Have Endless Energy to Outplay your Kids by Dustin Maher is a book which guides you toward becoming physically fit. Dustin Maher has assisted thousands of women to realize their potential and get fit for life. With the 31 success stories of moms like me, this book throws away the excuses. Becoming fit is not just a dream, it is a reality.
There are five pillars to this program, Mindset, Nutrition, Strength Training, Burst Training, and Environment. Building on these five components brings you to the ultimate goal, staying fit for life.
Here are a few of the topics that are covered
What I like about this book and program is that it gives you the tools to achieve your goal. According to the book you can just focus on one are, for example cardio. You need total body workout including strength training to truly be fit.
Personally I'm cardio queen. Put me in a spin class or on an elliptical and I'll stay on for hours. For me, cardio is a great escape where I can forget the pikes of laundry and the insane family schedule. While all that cardio is great it doesn't make me strong. My muscles need additional strength training to keep my body in shape. Of course, I'm not talking becoming a muscle machine, but moderate strength training is good for your bones. By adding a few intervals of weighs to my workouts I'll strength my bones and add definition to my body. Not to mention ill be strong enough to lug around my kids and all their stuff.
