Progress Cards, set a goal and achieve, product review & giveaway

I work hard to instill good manners, a healthy self-esteem and a strong work ethic in my children. It takes a lot of positive reinforcement to achieve the results. But in the end, all our hard work is definitely worth it.

As we work at our goals, it’s important to track milestones along the way. It gives the kids a sense of accomplishment and a desire to keep up the good work. Previously I used a chart to help, but recently I was introduced to a product that simplifies the tracking process.

Progress Cards are a list of cards that identify your child’s strengths and weaknesses in a variety of life experiences. Whether your child needs to work on sportsmanship or friendship, the Progress Cards system provides an easy way to encourage and track your child’s accomplishments. Through his achievement your child can visually see their progress to their goal. 

Over the past week, we’ve been using the Progress Cards in our house. We are working with two of the cards, Focus and Listen Better and Stop Being Selfish. The simple ideas and tips on each card were easy for my boys to follow. The concepts were followed by a check-off list to chart their progress on each of tips. We picked 1 topic from each card to follow – 1. Listen without interrupting and 2. Ask for help when needed. We set a goal for each child, 3 or 4 stars on the chart for the week. The kids were able to see how they were doing and felt a sense of accomplishment when they reached their goal.

Now that the holidays are approaching, Progress Cards can be a great reminder to behave well. We all know that good little boys and girls are on Santa’s list. These cards can reinforce the good behavior or work on an area that needs improvement. I see us using the cards in our house to keep up the good behavior in hope that Santa might leave a special present under the tree.
