Is your family up for the challenge?

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Aladdin. All opinions are 100% mine.

We're a busy family. Going from school, sports practice, errands and the general daily life chores, we are on the go more than ever. But even with our hectic lifestyle, we have to be aware of the choices we make. For example, our family using water bottles.

Recently, our entire family has switched from using plastic water bottles to reusable bottles. So far, we've had no complaints. The kids are great at remembering to take their reusable bottles everywhere we go; school, sports, etc. One of the biggest benefits that I have seen is that there are no more empty water bottles collecting in the back of our car.

Currently, Aladdin is encouraging families to take the "Do The Reuse Challenge." The challenge is a 30-day commitment to give up disposable water bottles, paper products or food containers.

Just think about the idea. What would be the benefit from reducing a family's monthly waste from just water bottles? Did you know that 50 billion disposable water bottles are consumed per year; 137,000 per day; 1,585 per second. It is a huge amount. If just a few families changed their habits there would be a difference.

Our family has made some changes and it wasn't too difficult to incorporate the reusable products. Also, we are looking at changing some items for birthday party. Instead of buying cases of water bottles, we're having a pitcher of water with glasses for everyone. The glasses can be washed in the dishwasher and used again. A huge reduction in trash and a big savings to our party budget too.

So, at the start of the school year, why not take the Aladdin Do the Reuse Challenge.  Check out  Aladdin on Facebook for more information. The planet, your budget, and your family will thank you for it.
