Sip into relaxation with Uncorked Ventures - review

Relaxing with on the couch with a glass of wine is a delightful way to spend a quiet Friday evening. The most pressing question on my plate is which wine to enjoy. Without the burden of pairing a wine with an elaborate meal, the options for my generous pour are greater. From a light citrus infused white wine to a bold, robust red, my mood dictates the bottle.

Recently I was introduced to Vinroc, a red table wine sent to me by Uncorked Ventures. While I was slightly dubious of opening an unknown, unlabeled bottle of red wine,  I was pleasantly surprised by the jammy quality of this wine and its easy drinkability.

According to the tasting notes, the Vinroc table wine offers layers of dark fruit, mochas, spices and licorice. As the wine develops in the glass, the floral notes become more pronounced.

For me, I noticed mostly fruity notes to this wine. The jammy quality added to the lightness of the wine. The wine was easy to drink on its own. If I would pair this wine with food, I would see it served with soft cheeses, a spicy meat dish or even a hearty fish. Most importantly, the wine was as pleasant as it was when it was first opened.

Uncorked Ventures offers a variety of wines from the Napa region. Depending on personal preference, the wine club offers several options. Each month members can explore new wines within the region. From bold, full bodied cabernets to oak filled chardonnay, the fun is trying them all.
