S'mores with spice but without the flame - Sante Nuts Review

In our home, we appreciate bold, big flavors. While classic is always king, a twist on a favorite can be just the answer to fight flavor boredom. Sante Nuts offer the flavor profiles that keep our taste buds fired up.

Sante Nuts aren't your plain, boring nuts. These elevated nuts bring varied spices to create bigger, bolder flavors to the nutritious snack. With nine flavors in the line, these snacks offer a balance of sweet, savory, spice and crispy crunch. From a tangy sweet and spicy pecan to a earthy cardamom cashew, these nuts can be eaten alone or added to a new recipe.

Since National S'More Day is here, our family decided to explore using some Sante Nuts in George Duran's S'More recipes.

Nutty S'mores cones by George Duran

Waffle cones
Mini chocolate chips
Mini marshmallows
Diced fruit
Sante nuts (any variety) chopped

Preheat oven to 275

Place all the ingredients in individual bowls (like a toppings bar) on a table with spoons in each bowl. Have guests fill up a waffle cone with the toppings, then loosely wrap each filled waffle cone with aluminum foil and place on its side on a baking sheet.

Place in oven for 2-3 minutes or, if outside, near a campfire or on indirect heat in a grill.

Allow aluminum foil to cool and serve.

While Chef Duran's recipe is delicious, out family made a slight modification. Presently, we are in a caramel phase, specifically salted caramel.  Instead of chocolate chips, we used a chopped chocolate bar that was filled with caramel. Pairing our sweet treat with sweet and spicy pecans served for a spicy treat to an indulgent evening. The dessert offers a balance of sweetness without being cloying at the end of the evening. It was definitely a dessert that left everyone satisfied without being overdone.
