In the
Chicago area, fall brings with it certain family traditions. While the
weather may be unpredictable, an annual trip to the farm for pumpkins,
hay rides and even a zombie paintball ride can make lasting family
memories. Siegel's Cottonwood Farm is a perfect location for fall family fun.
Siegel's
Cottonwood Farm is located in Lockport, Illinois. This 100 year old
working farm offers numerous attractions that all ages can enjoy.
Recently, my family was given the opportunity to visit and here are some
of our highlights.
Zombie Paintball Ride:

This
special feature was my sons' favorite attraction of the day. While the
attraction requires an additional ($15/person when we visited), who can
resist the urge to shoot paintballs at zombies. The ride lasts for
approximately 15 minutes and there are four zombie shooting stations.
Participants shoot at live zombies and targets. Make sure that you aim
for the head or the zombies might attack the truck.
Corn Maze:
At
Seigel's there are two corn mazes. A smaller maze for younger children
is easy to follow. Throughout the maze, there are story boards that help
guide you through. A second, much larger maze is challenging. When you
enter this maze, you give your name so that no one gets left inside. I
would highly recommend buying the map and clues to follow the path. Even
with the map, we had quite a few missteps. (A map is $1).
Animal Feed Station

My kids love seeing all the animals. From petting a goat to feeding the cows, the animals bring a smile to the kids faces.
Pumpkins!
A
visit to Siegel's isn't complete without a pumpkin. Guests can ride the
tractor to the u-pick it pumpkin patch or you can choose a smaller item
on the way out. Pumpkins are priced according to weight.
Siegel's Cottonwood Farm is opened on September 21 through October 31 from 10 am to 6 pm. For an admission discount, please use this coupon.

ReplyDeleteNow that's what I miss over here in Vegas!! We have tons of amazing places, but nothing like that! I grew up outside Chicago... The Midwest is great for those!
