When
it come to weeknight dinners, it can be rare when the kids both agree on
the cuisine. One day a child wants pasta while the other wants chicken.
There is one day when everyone cheers - Taco Night.
On
Taco Night everyone is excited to fill their shells with meat, pico de
gallo and cheese. I think that the combination of flavors and making
your own dinner adds to the fun. Too bad that every night isn't taco
night.
Recently
my family had the opportunity to try the new Old El Paso Stand N Stuff
Soft Flour Tortillas and Mexican Cooking Sauces. Now everyone has a new
favorite for the Mexican dishes.
The New Mexican Cooking Sauces bring you complex Mexican flavor that would take days to make from scratch, delivered simply via roasted vegetables and traditional Mexican spices. These versatile cooking sauces taste great with your favorite meats or veggies, and are perfect for traditional Mexican meals or for adding a Mexican flare to other recipe.
I
like the cooking sauces because the chicken or hamburger meat absorbs
so much flavor in a short period of time. Previously I would have to
marinate meat for hours to obtain the depth of flavor. With these
cooking sauces, my cooking time is decreased yet everything tastes as if
I had spent hours preparing.
The
kids love the Stand N Stuff Flour Tortillas. There is nothing worse
than than a broken taco shell. Besides the mess on the floor, the fun of
eating tacos is picking them up. No one wants to eat tacos with a fork.
The shape of these shells allows tons of filling. From scoops of meat
to piles of cheese, everything can be piled high without fear of
breakage.
These Old El Paso items can be purchased at many grocery stores nationwide.

ReplyDeleteMy tips ~ If I use ground meat, I boil it first to remove most of the fat. Also, heat the taco shells in the oven for just about a minute or so at 250 degrees, checking frequently so they don't burn. Nice, hot, and crunchy :)
