Dinner for under 200 calories, I took the Gorton's Seafood Challenge - review/giveaway
I like eating fish. Personally, I would have fish for dinner multiple times a week. In my opinion, fish is good for you as well as tasty. Unfortunately, the rest of my family has yet to come to my conclusion. When I was asked to take the Gorton's Seafood Challenge, I jumped at the chance.
Did you know that Gorton's has 20 seafood options under 200 per serving? For anyone who is calorie conscious or trying to eat smart, these options work well into their healthy eating plan. With so many options, you won't get bored eating the same item over and over. Diet boredom can spell disaster. With 20 options and even more recipes from Gortons, there is no repeats for weeks.
I chose to purchase several options for my family. Since I like all types of fish, I purchased grilled salmon for my dinner. I paired my piece of grilled salmon with some sauteed spinach. It was an easy to make dinner. In under 15 minutes, my dinner was ready on the table (I did a microwave preparation for my fish). Plus, I put my dinner at around 150 calories (1 piece of salmon was 100 and the spinach around 50).
For the rest of the family, I went with grilled tilapia. The seasoning on the fish was subtle but enjoyable for younger palates. I paired the fish with some brown rice and steamed carrots. The kids liked the fish because it didn't taste fishy (their words). I was happy to see that they ate something new and it wasn't a chicken nugget.
Gorton's has 20 options in their under 200 line. Options include salmon, tilapia, haddock and shrimp. These options come in a variety of flavors.
Be sure to check out Gorton's Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Recipe Galley.

ReplyDeleteI would really like to try the salmon. We love to eat salmon at our house, but do not very often because i am always nervous about preparing it from raw fish. All the bones, etc. I am really excited about these new Gortons products!
