Are you having you Quao? It's the ultimate card game - review

Who is the supreme being in your house?  Personally, I would like to think that I hold that title, but I'm realistic. Kids rule the kingdom. Still I would love to make those little ones who can cause me grief bow to my power!  Well, this mom can in the game of ultimate dictatorship, Quao (cow).

What is Quao?  Per the game's description. Quao is the absolute, supreme ruler of an unruly wasteland at the edge of civilization where attempts at democracy are futile. There is only one law and it is Quao. Only Quao knows the rules and she rules with an iron hoof.

Based on the description, you can guess that this game has a lot of whimsy and humor (it is a Wiggity game). Here's how you play. One person is designated as the first Quao. There are two types of cards, white and black. Black are rule cards, read only by the Quao. The other cards require players to act as the card dictates. The first person to be out of cards wins.

The fun of the game comes from the actions on the cards. For example, the JaQuas cards require the player to share an embarrassing revaluation. Depending on your playing partners, you could get a silly scenario (his feet stink) or something more profound (he was once arrested in college). The fun of the game comes from your playing partners.

Just remember that you have to follow the Quao's rules (you'll only know when you're in trouble.) After all the Quao is the supreme dictator.

I would suggest playing this game with either kids who have a great sense of imagination or at a rowdy party where people are willing to throw caution to the wind. You have to have a sense of fun and be able to laugh at yourself to play this game.

Quao retails for $9.95. It can be purchased at Barnes & Noble and the Wiggity Bang website.

Put away the old playing cards this holiday. Determine the ultimate dictator in your household with a spirited game of Quao!

Disclosure: I received this game to review. All opinions are my own.
