Today, as a Mountain Dew Insider I was able to attend a virtual press conference with Dale Earnhardt, Jr. (thanks to Google + hangout). I've never attended one of these events before. I had a great time and Dale Earnhardt Jr. was very gracious and took the time to answer all our questions.

Thank you to all my readers who submitted questions. Here are the two questions that I was able to ask during the press conference.

1. When did you realize you wanted to be a racecar driver and how old were you?
Answer: Around 12 or 13, he was fairly confident that being a racecar driver would be his profession. When he was younger, like 5 or 6, he originally wanted to be a football player. The downside of deciding to be a racecar driver at the age of 13, you have to wait several years to get your driver's license.

2. Do you have any pre-race rituals?
Answer: There are no specific rituals. He does appreciate the routine of race day. From visiting with sponsors and fans to pre-race meetings, the consistent schedule of the day keeps him on track. Still, he won't break superstitious events like walking in front of a black cat.

These were my questions and answer summaries. Several other ladies were able to join me in the press conference. A complete video of the event will be available soon.

Thanks to the Dew Crew and Dale Earnhardt Jr. for the wonderful event.
