Don't scream, protect yourself from pests with PestWorld - review

You've heard the screech. Mom!!! Help. There's a spider, bug, giant fuzzy thing that is going to eat me. Well, maybe not eat him, but, still, there is something icky and gross that you don't want in your house. From spiders to ants to the next creepy, crawly bug, no one wants these pests in their home.

Personally, I really don't like bugs. Since I was little, I have had an aversion to anything that was creepy and crawly. To this day, I will do my best to avoid these exhibits at zoos, museums and other venues. But, now that I'm a mom, I have to toughen up and face those exoskeletons with a brave face.

For an reason unknown to me, spiders really like our basement.  From the darkness to the window wells, I have seen one too many eight legged friends down there. Of course, when my husband is at home, I do not have to be the spider killer. The big, strong man of the house can handle big duty. Unfortunately, one day I was called to action.

While preparing lunch I hear the primal scream from the basement. Thinking that there must be blood, bruises or something similar, I quickly ran down the stairs. There was no blood or horrible incident, instead I saw a big, hair eight legged nightmare, a spider. The boys found this gross creature up by the window well.

I was told that it had to go, NOW. Of course, I asked if we could wait for daddy to come home, but that didn't fly. I thought of many excuses to delay the inevitable. Instead, I had to get a step stool and kill this pest. The worse sound is the crunch when you finally capture the creature in the big pile of paper towels. Needless to say, I had no appetite for lunch after this little adventure. Still, I was the bug killer for the boys, but I would rather not have to be the exterminator again.

Now I try to prepare our house to keep these pests to a minimum. Through sprays, cleaning and making sure our house is sealed, I hope to reduce the possibility of these little creatures finding refuge from the cold.
