Celebrating a big game at 2 Toots Train Whistle Grill - review

How do you celebrate the Defenisive Player of the Game?  You let him choose the restaurant for the celebration dinner, of course.  My family and I eat out periodically, which means that my kids have definite opinions on where and what to eat. Sometimes I try to steer them to a new or different restaurant that we haven't tried. Last week's celebratory dinner was at a restaurant that was new to us, 2 Toots Train Whistle Grill in Bartlett.

Train themed restaurants are a popular destinations for families with small children. The fast casual feel coupled with the fun train atmosphere makes the dinner out enjoyable for everyone.

Located by the Metra station in Bartlett, the 2 Toots Whistle Train Grill isn't just about the train theme. This restaurant offer 100% grass fed, 100% prairie raised beef exclusively for our preservative free Hot Dogs, nationally famous Hamburgers and homemade Chili.

Most importantly, 2 Toots is the only themed restaurant where every seat is on the train tracks. Families do not have to worry about disappointed kids who can stare at the train from afar. At this restaurant, whether you sit at the counter or a booth, the train will stop at your seat with your food.

I'm sure that many of you have patronized kid theme restaurants for the kids. We all have muddled through the lesser quality food offerings to make the little ones happy. At 2 Toots, the food appeals to both adults and kids.

Being a family restaurant, there is plenty of kid-friendly fare. From whistles on cupcakes to extra sprinkles on giant shakes, the kids are excited with all of the fun.

Personally, I was impressed with my hamburger. With the high quality meat and the well cooked burger, I was happy with my meal. Plus, I added some bacon to my burger. The bacon was nice and thick. Definitely worth adding to a burger.

If you are looking for a fun night out for the kids, considering visiting 2 Toots Train Whistle Grill. There are two locations in the Chicagoland area.

Disclosure: My family received a gift certificate to eat at this restaurant. All opinions are my own.
