Knot Genie, no more pulled, tangled hair, review/giveaway

For a long time, I've been growing out my hair. When I was younger, my mom never wanted me to have long hair. Her reasoning, my hair would get tangled and I would cry when she tried to brush or comb it.

Now that I'm older, I understand what my mom was thinking. Even though I'm an adult, brushing tangles out of my hair can be a pain. Don't get me wrong, I'm not cutting my long locks. But, when the wind whips up my hair and makes a mess, it takes time and patience to make it look nice again.

If you have long hair like me or have a little girl with long hair, you should look into the Knot Genie. What's the Knot Genie? "The Knot Genie™ Detangling Brush was created for every mom that has endured the foot stomping and screaming matches that come with brushing their child's hair. With the Knot Genie, even the curliest, most knotted up hair practically slips through the unique bristle configuration – gently and painlessly."

I know that you're thinking - how is this different from all the brushes in my draw?  The Knot Genie has different lengths of teeth on the brush. The effect is to simply and effectively remove all the tangles in your hair.

I brought my Knot Genie in my purse the last time I headed into Chicago. With all the wind in the city, it is a difficult place for a woman with long hair. I was very impressed. I was able to quickly brush all the tangles out of my hair and it left my hair smooth and silky. Plus, it didn't take up a lot of space in my purse.

The Knot Genie can be purchased on-line at http://www.knotgeniestore.com/. The Knot Genie comes in a variety of colors and retails for $19.99.

I have a Knot Genie to giveaway to one of my readers. Please use the Rafflecopter form to enter.

  8. Once when my daughter was 5, she got up in the middle of the night and cut off all of her beautiful strawberry blonde hair. (It WAS a hot nigh, but still!!!) This was right before school pictures! For the next year or so, people thought she was a little boy with a bad haircut, She has never wanted her hair short since! (It is now waist long, and people comment about her gorgeous hair frequently.)

  10. My daughter is 6 and has such beautiful read hair that is about 2 inches past her shoulders. She doesn't want it cut. Ever. Problem is, she doesn't like it pulled back, and she screams bloody murder at the sight of a hairbrush in the mornings. The rest of the day we do ok, but before school? Oh. My. Gosh. You'd think I was beating the child. I use detangler, I'm gentle, but alas, grumpy mornings and tangles do not a pleasant morning make.

  14. My worse hair story lasted for most of my elementary school years. I lived in humid south florida, had frizzy hair, and it created an afro I never wanted. On the school bus, the bullies (yes, I was bullied) used to stick jellybeans in my hair that they'd put in their mouths first :( I would come home miserable.

The worst part was that my little sister who didn't look like me at all (no afro!) would get picked on by association and they did the same to her hair too. I hated it for me, but I still feel the worst pain knowing it happened to her just because she was my blood.

Man, such bad memories make me sad.

  21. My worst hair day was a hair month. I had really light blonde hair growing up and I decided to use that spray color for Halloween when I was in junior high. I sprayed it pink, green and blue stripes. It didn't wash out! We tried everything and couldn't get it to come out! It took almost a month to fade out and everyone called me Candy Cane (my name is Candice) for the next year!

  44. As a child my hair was very baby thin, to many tangles, greasy, and didn't really want to grow. I found the Shielo Volumizing Shampoo and within a week my hair wasn't near as greasy and the tangles started to get better. Within a few months the best part about the shampoo was noticed. My hair started at my shoulders and when I went to get a trim (not even a year later) it was over halfway down my back. Sol, I got 2 inches cut off and within the next year it grew to my butt. I got it cut till about halfway down my back again and within 4 months it's getting to my butt again. My hair is also thicker and stronger than ever before. It also seems to have more body and volume to it as well.

My daughter turned 7 and instead of the no tear shampoo I started using Shielo Volume on her as well. Her hair was starting to be just like mine used to be so I caught this early and just within a few months her hair is already improving especially in the tangles department as well as how greasy it was.
