Getting our Easter Baskets ready

I love Easter. Whether it's decorating Easter eggs or planning an egg hunt, each task makes me smile. What makes it even better is that I can share the events with my children. To see the joy in their faces when they find a hidden egg is priceless.

One of critical part of the Easter celebration is the traditional Easter basket. I don't eat a lot of chocolate or sweets. When I do indulge, I want high quality chocolate. It's funny how one, small piece of candy can cure my craving.

There are certain items that I always want in my Easter basket. One is a chocolate bunny. Whether it is solid or hollow, there is something fun about biting into a bunny ear on Easter night that just seems a fun way to end the day.

My kids have specific candy likes. One child loves all things sour. I always make sure that he has his favorites in his basket. Luckily, I don't like sour, so I never steal his candy.

My other child likes chocolate (just like me). One time I took a few pieces of his candy during a weak moment. Needless to say it was hard to explain why mommy was taking his Easter bunny candy. Luckily he wasn't upset and instead sat down and ate a piece with me.
