Weekend events for families

Looking to get the kids out of the house this weekend? Here are some ideas to have some family fun.

Home Depot Kids' Workshop.
From 9-12, Home Depot will host its monthly project.This month's project is a valet organizer.

Sears
Make a pit stop garage. From 12-3 kids can build this father's day project. Here are the terms "Each Kit costs $5.00 and can be purchased the day of the event. A kit includes: 1 kit, goggles & an apron. Ages 4-10 are recommended. Note: 60 kids per workshop event. First come, first serve."

Bass Pro Shops
Bring the family to your local Bass Pro Shops for various family activities. There wills be crafts, workshops and other free activities. These free events will be held Saturday and Sunday from noon till 4.


Local Chicago area events

Bolingbrook Calavade of Planes, June 4-5:
Bring the family to the Clow International Airport for everything about aviation. The event runs from 10 till 4 each day.

Frontier Kite Festival Naperville June 5
Bring the family to Frontier Park on Sunday June 5 for everything about kites. Whether you want to watch the professional kits professionals or get involved yourself, the event has a little for everyone. This event is free. It will run 10 am till 4 pm. There will be a play area with bounce houses. The play area requires the purchase of a wristband for $5.

Naperville Woman's Fine Art Fair, June 4-5
The 52nd annual Naperville Woman's Club will present over 85 artists in this year's event. The artists will show their works in Downtown Naperville adjacent to the Municipal Center and across from the Riverwalk, on Water and Webster Streets, one block North of Naper Settlement.
