Diaper Genie II Elite Advanced Disposal System review/giveaway

I’m part of the I Love My Mommy Giveaway event.  So, here’s my giveaway (and review) of a great product for moms, the Diaper Genie II Elite Advanced Disposal System.

When a new baby arrives into your family, it is a wonderful time for everyone. There is the cuddling, the rocking, the feeding and ultimately, the diaper changes. No one wants to think about that dirty job, but it is part of the deal. What goes in, must come out.

Luckily, there is a product that can make diaper changing easier, the Diaper Genie II Elite Advanced Disposal System.

What is the Diaper Genie II Elite?  It is considered the ultimate in baby diaper disposal systems.  The Diaper Genie system lets you keep your hands where they are needed most, on your baby. No more reaching for the diaper pail. The push foot pedal and the dirty diaper is sealed  away.

Another reason to use the Diaper Genie Eltie II is the odor control. No one wants their house to smell like dirty diapers, nor do you want your child to have to tolerate that smell in the nursery. The system seals diapers in a multi-layer film, which protects against germs and odors.

Here are some facts about the Diaper Genie Elite II

Odor control:
• Proven number one in odor control
• Antimicrobial Protection built into the plastic to inhibit odor-causing bacteria
• Five-layer refill with odor-barrier technology
• No messy baking soda required to control odor
• Prevents odor unlike carbon systems or ordinary trash cans

Easy to use:
• Foot pedal so your hands never touch the pail
• Ergonomic, taller design so you don’t need to bend to insert diapers, making it simple to hold baby and dispose of diaper
• Easy to empty: cut film, tie and throw diapers away
Refill benefits:
• Refills have a unique design so that diapers touch only the refill film and not the pail, for a mess-free disposal
• Refill bags can be cut to any size you want (1-30 newborn diapers at
a time), to eliminate excess waste. Some competitive bags are pre-formed so bags are wasted if you don’t use to maximum capacity (usually 25-30 diapers).
• Refills are made with 5-layer technology to prevent odors unlike any plastic trash bag

The  Diaper Genie II Elite Advanced Disposal System can be purchased at Babies R Us, Target, Walmart and many other retailers.

The generous folks at Playtex have provided me with a Diaper Genie II Elite Advanced Disposal System to give to one of my readers.

  1. I remember going to my best friends housewarming party. I figured my son would sleep through it, and I could enjoy the get together. I laid him on her bed, and he went right to sleep. About a half an hour later, I found him awake, he had really bad dirahea, that had made a mess everywhere. I was so embarrassed. She was really understanding, but I also notice she hasn't talked about having kids.

  11. Ooohh..worst diaper story is probably finding Lily in her crib with it all the way up her back, down her legs and all over the sheet. YUCK! And then you feel so bad having to take a onesie off over their head when it is COVERED in poo.

    YICK!

  13. My kids are all grown now, but when my oldest was still in diapers, but in the "potty training stage", we had a potty chair in his room. One day during nap time, he filled them up, then decided to empty his diaper into the potty. WEll, why stop there? We had a fan up on his dresser, and it was running during nap time...Yep you guessed it - he threw the contents into the fan. When "*$#@ hits the fan", it really does fly!

Thanks for the giveaway. I hope to win this for my daughter who is expecting in November:-)

  20. Ok, Funny diaper story for my son, who is now 2. But unfortunately still not potty trained. This happened back when he was 1 year old right before he started walking. He loved to roll around on the floor, whenever he rolled on his back, he would pick his butt up and slam it down on the floor. Well needless to say his dirty butt was a little loose this day and I had butt splatters all over my Living room carpet. Not my best day.

Thanks for the Mother's Day Blog Hop!

I am still pregnant (due in 3 weeks!) so I don't have a story yet but my parents always tell me that the first time my dad watched me by myself, I had a nice messy diaper right as soon as she pulled out of the parking lot and my grandpa just laughed at my dad who looked worried and tried to chase my mom down before she left, lol..

My daughter decided all at the same time she would throw up and have an exploding diaper. We had to pull over and my husband had it all over him and it was all over the car. He had to change her because I was throwing up at that point too! Fun day! Thanks for the giveaway!

  41. Worst diaper story... happened when *I* was a baby... as told to me by my mom. Mom wasn't home so Dad changed the diaper. He put the onesie on first, then the cloth diaper, then the rubber pants. :) When Mom came home, the entire onesie was soaked, all the way up to my neck! LOL :)

We left a diaper in the back of our SUV not realizing that we never threw it away and after leaving the car parked out in the hot sun during a summer day, opening the car was horrific!

  71. When our Son was about 5 months old, I was out doing errands and decided to stop by a friend's house for a short visit.

The visit had to be short because I did not have another diaper with me.

I was only there a few minutes, when, sure enough, Skyler went pee.

Debbie did not want me to leave so she came up with a solution.

She took two Maxi Pads and put them in the wet diaper so that Skyler would be dry again.

We were able to have a longer visit while Skyler had a dry bum.

It is not something I would normally do, but it worked in a pinch!

    Thanks for the incredible giveaway.

  78. I was babysitting for a kid once. His parents left and he climbed up on the sofa. He was almost 3 and still in diapers. Being sick he ended up with diarrhea the problem was at his age it overflowed and by that I mean one sofa cushion was completely covered. So I had to bathe him put him to bed then wash the sofa cover as best as I could all while watched his brother and sister. His mother came home after that to be with him but really shouldn't have left him at all. Ugh it was not fun.

  96. Funny diaper story? Huh? Oh, I just remembered one. Back when my son was wearing pullups, sometimes he would take off his pants and pullup together and throw them in the laundry. Well, I didn't notice the pull up one of the many times doing laundry. When the wash was done, the pull up had exploded and there were tiny jelly-like balls all over inside the washer. It took forever to clean it out.

  97. One diaper incident popped into my head right away -- the time I was traveling with my then 18month old in a long flight...I was wearing a light-colored tan skirt holding Baby on lap, when I felt something very, very warm. Trying to clean up a diaper explosion in an airplane bathroom and then clean ourselves up to keep the smell from bugging the passengers was an adventure! Arriving at the huge & very busy JFK Airport, I tried to push my umbrella stroller as close to my clothes as possible, tyring to hide the funny looking stains. :-) creedamy at yahoo [dot]com

  104. This happened with my oldest daughter. I was desperate for diapers so I picked some up at a local $1 store, instead of the huggies that I would usually have bought. Well they said on the package that they changed color when the baby peed. Id seen types like that before and didnt think anything of it. The problem was they were REALLY generic diapers. So the first time she peed in them they changed color all right. but they also leaked everywhere!

  137. I have bad stories each day. LOL
Let's see the last one was my son having a bad diaper and I forgot to restock my wipes and diapers. SOO I had to use the dry part of his diaper to wipe the rest of the stuff off and then put his pants back on without a diaper. Oh my. Lesson learned.

  157. I was visiting my niece, who has a three year old and a one year old. The guest room is also their play room. The three year old is still potty training. I guess he took off his diaper in the guest room before I got there and I didn't see it but I couldn't sleep because of the smell. I finally found it under the bed.

  158. I do ok until one of my toddlers decides to take their diaper off. With 3 in diapers it's always a possibility.

  159. Well my baby is only 1 month old so I don't have any really good stories yet lol but he is having pooping issues - so his worst poop was when he hadn't gone for 5 days and the noise when he finally went... we used about 15 wipes to clean it up!

  177. Worst diaper story would have to be the time I was out with my daughter and didn't have anymore diapers. She had a huge blowout and I had no idea what I was supposed to do. Had to leave her diaperless until we were able to get to a store. What a mess.

  188. It was my son's very first doctor's appt. and so this was my first time ever taking him out of the house (he had only been home for about 2 days). I of course dressed him in his cutest outfit and had a matching adorable blanket. As soon as I got him into the room, I realized he had mess in his diaper and it had leaked everywhere! Not only did it leak and ruin his clothes, blanket, and my clothes...but I had also forgot extra clothes (but fortunately remembered a diaper). So I had to take a naked baby home...but fortunately it was summer so he was happy.
