There are many milestones in a child's life. The first steps, the first words and ditching the bottle for a big kid cup.
Playtex understands that this transition from bottle to cup can be difficult. That's why Playtex has designed the Lil' Gripper Straw Trainer Cup to help make this change easier for you and your child.
The Lil' Gripper Trainer Cup is designed with a child development expert to help moms teach their babies how to suck and drink from a straw. The natural motion of drinking from a straw serves as an easy transition from using a bottle.
What makes the Lil' Gripper Straw Trainer Cup unique is that an adult can assist the child drinking by squeezing the cup. Although a parent can squeeze the cup and push the liquid up, it's not easy enough for a child to do so.
Other features include:
The First Lil' Gripper Straw Trainer Cup is available at numerous retailers including Babies R Us, Target, Kroger and Walmart.
Playtex has given me a First Lil' Gripper Trainer Straw Cup to give away to one of my readers.

Lots of patience and just keep trying, by bringing a cup out once a day at first, then a couple of times a day so neither parent or child gets frustrated. Making a game out of it, first you drink out of your cup then they try (with your help). :-) creedamy at yahoo [dot]com

patirnce.guve them an empty one to help learn holding or wth a little water
ReplyDeleteWe've just used sippy cups that don't spill and haven't had too much of a problem.
ReplyDeletegive them stuff they like to drink first that way they will know to get what they want they have to drink out of the cup

Start offering them the cup during mealtimes and gradually push a little more!

my tip is to never start using a bottle for anything other than milk. When you start your baby on juice, thats when you start a cup. Then, once they are done with formula (or if they turn a year old) start putting milk in the sippy too and completely ditch the bottle.

I think cups like this with straws a good way to teach kids to keep their cup upright and transition into using cups.

My only tip is practice makes perfect. They will never get the use to drinking out of a cup until you let them. Just be prepared for messes ;)
