Gurnee Mills presents animals after dark April 23


Do you know what animals live in a rainforest?  Would your children like to learn more about exotic animals?

Gurnee Mills hosts Animals After Dark Rainforest Live on Saturday, April 23. Children and families will have the opportunity to view, touch and learn about all types of rainforest animals. Some opportunities include playing with monkeys, petting a jungle cat, and holding big snakes. 

Animals in the exhibit include capuchin monkey, marmoset monkey, geoffrey cat, opossum, armadillo, giant hornbill, vulture, hawk, owl, fennec fox, parrot, sugar glider, degus, hedgehog, rabbit and more.

This special exhibit is intended to educate families about animal conservation, animals as pets and animals in nature. The program is a collaboration between educators, rescue groups, shelters and animal activists.

Animals After Dark will be held on Saturday, April 23. There will be four shows, 10 am, noon, 2 pm, and 4 pm. Tickets are $8. Children under 3 are free.

The exhibit is set up at the Gurnee Mills Show Court, near entry G.
