Free family events for March 11-13

This weekend offers numerous free events for the whole family. From sweet treats to everything Irish, this list has an event or two for everyone.

Starbucks: On March 11 through March 12, Starbucks will offer free petite treats with the purchase of a handmade beverage. This promotion is associated with Starbucks 40th Anniversary.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Downtown Naperville: Saturday, March 12, 10 am.  Join the annual Naperville tradition in Downtown Naperville.  The parade starts at Naperville North High School and ends at the Naperville Municipal Center.

Michaels: Saturday, March 12, 10 am till noon: Make a Yarn Doll. Bring the kids to Michaels to learn how to make a simple yarn doll. Activity is recommended for children ages 3 and up. Craft will be available while supplies last.

Whole Foods: From 1 till 3 pm, Whole Foods will be sampling a variety of Irish foods and beverages.

World Market: Saturday, March 12, 1-4 pm. Head over to your local World Market store for a St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Learn more about Irish beer, wine and St. Patrick’s Day foods.

Plainfield St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Sunday, March 13: At 1 pm, the Plainfield Irish Parade will begin its journey to Downtown Plainfield.  Immediately following the parade, there will be a free corned beef and cabbage dinner courtesy of Front Street Cantina.
