Andersons Bookshop: Children’s Literature breakfast, Tim Green and much more

This weekend, Andersons Bookshop is hopping with several author events and the annual Children’s Literature Breakfast.  Here is a short summary on this weekend’s events.


Friday, February 18: Tim Green, author appearance at 7 pm

Former Atlanta Falcons defensive player and author, Tim Green will appear to promote his book, The Big Time: Football Genius. His story of dreams and expectations will keep young readers engaged in this story of the football star.

Friday, February 18: Weird Al Yankovic

Who doesn’t know Weird Al Yankovic? The singer, songwriter has written his first book for children, When I Grow Up. With all the silliness expected from Weird Al, this book chronicles a little boy’s imagination of what his career path may be. To attend this event, Weird Al’s book must be purchased. Saturday, February 19: Children’s Literature Breakfast

The ninth annual breakfast celebrates all aspects of children’s literature.  Special guest authors will include Tim Green, (The Big Time: Football Genius), Kathryn Lasky (Shadow Wolf, Guardians of Ga’Hoole), Mark Teague (Firehouse!, LaRue Across America), Trent Reedy (Words in the Dust), and Weird Al Yankovic (When I Grow Up).  In addition to special guests, the event offers a full breakfast, book talks, local authors, door prizes and much more. The breakfast will be held from 8 am till 1 pm at Abbington Banquet Center in Glen Ellyn. Tickets for this event are $49 and advanced reservations are required.  Please call 630-820-2802 to make reservations.
