Special events at Build-A-Bear Workshop in Gurnee Mills Mall

Build-A-Bear workshop will be hosting several charity events at its Gurnee Mills location on October 22 and October 23. These events are being held in conjunction with its grand opening celebration.

On Friday, October 22, at 9 a.m., children from a local KinderCare will make the first bears of the store. All of these special first bears will be donated to Bear Magic. Bear Magic is an organization that provides teddy bears to Lake County fire and police departments who, in turn, give these teddy bears to children in need and in distress. Also, to perform ribbon cutting duties, Bearemy, the company’s mascot will be on hand.

The following day, Saturday, October 23 at 10 a.m. brings more fun. The first 100 guests can create a free bear to donate to Bear Magic.

Build-A-Bear workshop is a great way for kids of all ages to create their customized stuffed animal. According to Maxine Clark, founder and chief executive bear of Build-A-Bear Workshop, “Build-A-Bear Workshop is a unique place for gift giving and celebrating important occasions throughout the year. During the holidays our stores offer great seasonal merchandise and become extra special for kids of all ages.”
