- Tuesday, September 14, 2010, Baa Moo Oink, 11:30 AM, Nichols Library: For babies up to 23 months old, join the library staff for tons of animal sounds. The little ones will enjoy animal sounds through rhymes, fingerplays, and song. The program highlights the Early Literacy skill, Phonological Awareness, which is the ability to hear and play with smaller sounds, such as "baa, oink and moo." No registration is required, but children must attend with a caregiver.
- Wednesday, September 15, 2010, Meet the Monarchs, 4:15 PM, 95th Street Library, For children in grades kindergarten through third grade, join the library staff to explore Monarch Award winning stories and fun crafts and activities.
- Friday, September 17, 2010, Silly, Silly Squirrels, 10:00 AM, Naper Boulevard Library For children of all ages, this furry adventure examines everything squirrel. Whether it's climbing a tree, swishing a tall or making a nutty craft, everyone will have a squirrel-iffic time. All children must be accompanied by a caregiver.
- Friday, September 17, 2010, Meet and Greet One of Naperville's Finest, 11:00 AM, Nichols Library Join one of Naperville's police officers for a special storytime. Children will learn about safety, get a tour of a police squad car and more. All children in attendance must be with a caregiver. The Naperville Police Department not only protects and serves our community, but provides a fun and exciting learning experience for all.
- Friday, September 17, 2010 Get in the Game, 5:00 PM, ALL LOCATIONS, Get the family together for game night. Whether you like Picktureka or checkers, the Naperville Library has you and your family gaming needs covered. Each library will have a different selection of games. This event is open to children and families.
- Sunday, September 19, 2010, The Lightning Thief, 2:00 PM, Nichols Library, The library will be screening the movie Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. The movie will be shown at the Teen SCReens (Nichols Library Movie Theater in the Community Room). The library staff will serve Mrs. Jackson's blue punch and chocolate golden drachmas. Attendees are encouraged to wear togas or their favorite summer camp shirt.
