Healthy and budget friendly family dinners from $5 Dinners

Dinner time can be a struggle in our house. I want my kids to eat healthy. Some days they willingly choose the healthy option and other days we don't have the same result.

But what I battle the most is wasting money on food that goes uneaten.

Recently I was introduced to a great website, 5 Dollar Dinners. This website offers hundreds of dinner options. Even better, all the options are cost-effective. No more wasting money.

5 Dollar Dinners was started by Erin Chase. She made her first $5 dinner in August 2008. Her book is  The $5 Dinner Mom Cookbook: 200 Recipes for Quick, Delicious, and Nourishing Meals That Are Easy on the Budget and a Snap to Prepare.

Her mission is based on three principles:
• To make dinner for my family every night for $5 or less!
• To prepare healthy meals using natural and wholesome ingredients!
• To encourage and inspire others to do the same!

Throughout her book and website, you can find tons of frugal facts, tips and ideas for your family. No more excuses that it can't be done.

Want to get started now? Click here for a sample recipe for Beef Tacos. It's so easy and the total cost of the recipe was $4.91.
