For your next night out, why not see Date Night

In my world date night can't come soon enough. Once a month, my husband and I try to schedule at least a couple of hours away from the kids, the house, the every day tasks, etc. Some date nights are elaborate with nice dinners and others are more laid back with a round of mini-golf. Whatever it is, it's time for us to reconnect with each other.

When I saw the trailer for the movie, Date Night, it made me laugh out loud. I can't imagine a date night like the one that I saw on the trailer.

Date Night is a movie starring Tina Fey and Steve Correll. The movie focuses on the couple's weekly date night. Unfortunately, this date is not the typical dinner out. The couple has a night of intrigue ranging from a car chase, breaking and entering and an encounter with a crime boss. But through it all the couple weathers the storm.

I don't know if my husband and I would survive a date night like this one. But the movie seems to be a great metaphor for marriage. Some days are easy and happy and other days are one chaotic event after another. But in the end, a strong marriage can survive anything.

So, if you have a date night schedule for this weekend, why not go see Date Night. The movie opens April 9, 2010 in theaters nationwide. Hopefully your date won't be as crazy as theirs was.
