More on Mondays a weekly list of family events in Naperville

It's Monday and here is another installment of More on Mondays, a weekly list of Naperville family events. This is a list of local and Naperville events for the upcoming week. By starting the list on Monday, everyone plan in advance to have a fun filled family weekend.

Below is a list of events for the week of August 31 through September 6. As always this list focuses on free or low cost family events in and around Naperville.

September 4 -7 Naperville's Last Fling The annual Labor Day celebration along Naperville's Riverwalk will be in full swing. This event is sponsored by the Naperville Jaycees. There will be concerts, carnival rides, food and tons of fun. The best value for families is the Carnival Day on Saturday, September 5, where $20 per person allows unlimited carnival rides from 10 am till 4 pm. For younger children and families there will be a family fun land with pony rides, tortoise rides, inflatables, craft activities and more. Family fun land is located in Naper Settlement and is open from 11-4 pm on Saturday and 11-2 pm on Sunday.

September 5 - National Bowling Day. This week is National Bowling Week. To hopefully set a world record for number of games bowled in a day, various bowling locations will be giving away free bowling. To receive the free game, you must print out the coupon at http://www.bowl.com/coupon/. There are various terms and conditions for this offer and only one free game per person. Local bowling centers that are participating in this event include Brunswick Zone Naperville, Lisle Lanes, AMF Bolingbrook Lanes and Brunswick Zone Woodridge.

September 5 Home Depot How To Do It Workshop Day. The first Saturday of every month is the Home Depot Workshop Day. This program is for children ages 5 to 12 and their parent or guardian. Each child receives an Home Depot apron, pin, and certificate. The event runs from 9 am to noon. September's project is a bean bag toss.

September 5 - Skaters' Picnic. Naperville Park District, Naperville Police and KidsMatter are sponsoring a free picnic lunch for all skaters. Character Skateboard of Chicago will perform at 11 am at Centennial Beach Skate Park.

September 5 and 6 Museums on Us is a program sponsors by Bank of America customers. This weekend Bank of America customers can show their card to receive free entry to some local museums in the area. Each customer must present a photo id. Participating museums in the Chicago-land area are Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago History Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art (not available on Sundays), and Shedd Aquarium.
